How do you benefit from a CE Marking? By purchasing a product with a CE Marking, you can be sure that the product you are getting meets designated minimum safety standards and therefore a minimum level of quality. By meeting these requirements, your product will be safer and less likely to become damaged in the future. If your product has a CE Marking, you can also be sure that you are purchasing from a credible and reliable supplier/manufacturer. How does a CE Marking differ from a UL certificate? The CE Marking is one that is applied by the manufacturer or supplier. It is a certfication by the manufacturer or supplier that all applicable EU standards for that piece of equipment have been met. There is no requirement for any third party involvement. UL, or Underwriters Laboratories Inc., is an independant 3rd party that evaluates equipment and components to standards that it considers acceptable. The UL mark means that the standards UL considers acceptable for that product have been met. The UL has developed more than 800 standards for safety to which products must conform.
